Job Description

General Field Worker – Vineyard Anderson Vineyards, Inc. is currently hiring individuals to perform general vineyard duties and tasks. Located in the scenic Anderson Valley in Northern California we have over 600 acres of vineyards in the area of Philo & Boonville, CA. The approximate dates of the project duties are between May 30th to August 15, 2020. Employees may be extended through the harvesting of the grapes which will last until approximately September 30, 2020. Listed below are the duties for the general field workers: Shoot thinning – removal of unwanted green shoots to properly develop the balance and vigor of the grapevine. Vine Training – securing the tender green growth to trellis wires or stake, to help hold the vines growth in a manageable form. Installing trellis stakes – manually inserting metal or wooden trellising stakes into the ground for assisting in securing the grapevines green shoots. Weed and Brush removal under vines - using a shovel or hoe to remove weeds and brush from under the vines. Rate: $14.77/hour plus optional housing at .70 cents/work hour available. Harvest Season Grape Pickers and duties: Harvesting grapes by hand – removing fruit from the vine with a grape knife or shears, then placing into a picking tub that may weigh as much as 40 lbs., ultimately dumping the picking tub into a large bin for transport. Harvest season lasts approximately between August 15th to September 30, 2020. Rate: $18/hour plus housing available for free Job Requirements: Frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements, ability to lift 50 lbs.
